A simple twist on the classic strawberries & cream, served on toasted rye for an easy breakfast or snack during Wimbledon season. Sweet strawberries sit on a creamy, tangy base of cream cheese, finished with olive oil and a touch of crunch.

Ingredients

1 slice Biona Organic Rye Bread

½ tsp Biona Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 tbsp cream cheese

3 strawberries, hulled and quartered

1–2 tsp Biona Organic Pure Amber Maple Syrup

¼ tsp hemp seeds or 2 tsp toasted flaked almonds (optional)

Method

1. Toast the rye bread until golden, then set aside to cool slightly so the cream cheese doesn’t melt on contact.

2. Drizzle the warm toast with olive oil, then spread evenly with cream cheese.

3. Top with the quartered strawberries, a light drizzle of maple syrup, and finish with hemp seeds or toasted flaked almonds if using.
