Inspired by the flavours of Germany’s beloved Black Forest gateau, we’ve turned it into a sweet breakfast toast twist that’s impossible to resist. Creamy coconut yoghurt replaces whipped cream, layered over hearty chia and flax rye bread. Juicy fresh cherries bring natural sweetness with a touch of tartness, while a dusting of grated dark chocolate adds richness and depth. A drizzle of organic agave syrup ties it all together, and fresh mint leaves provide a refreshing lift. It’s a wholesome, decadent bite of Black Forest flavour with absolutely no baking required.

Ingredients

Biona Organic Chia and Flax Rye Bread

3 tbsp coconut yoghurt 

100g fresh cherries, halved and pitted

35g dark chocolate, grated 

Drizzle of Biona Organic Light Agave Syrup

Fresh mint leaves, to garnish

Method

  1. On a slice of toasted rye bread, spread the coconut yoghurt and top with some fresh cherries. 
  2. Serve your topped toast with a sprinkle of grated dark chocolate, a drizzle of agave syrup and some fresh mint leaves for garnish.
