Vegan Chocolate Lava Cakes

These rich and chocolatey melt in the middle lava cakes, are simple to make and guaranteed to wow your guests. What's more they are vegan and utterly delicious. Perfect served with our coconut whipping cream.



For the Cakes:

70g plain flour

100g Biona Coconut Sugar

1/2 tsp baking powder

30g cocoa powder

200ml dairy-free milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

4tbsp (60ml) melted Biona Coconut Oil

6 squares dairy-free chocolate

For the Topping:

400ml Biona Coconut Whipping Cream


  1. Preheat the oven to 180c.
  2. Grease a non-stick muffin pan.
  3. Mix together all the dry ingredients (plain flour through to cocoa powder) in a bowl.
  4. Add in all the wet ingredients (dairy-free milk, vanilla extract and coconut oil) and stir until combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared tray, then pop a square of chocolate into the centre of each pudding.
  6. Bake for about 18 minutes, leave to cool for about 5 minutes, then serve.
  7. For added indulgence top with our Biona Coconut whipping cream (remember to chill before whipping for best results)
  8. Enjoy!
