Chocolate Spread Tiffin Bars

Serves: 15 Prep: 45_minutes


This simple chocolate treat is perfect for making with kids, get them involved in the weighing and stirring and it'll be all the sweeter to them come tasting time!


Tiffin bars:

2 and 1/2 cup pitted dates

35g Biona Organic peanut butter

35g Biona Organic Milk Hazelnut Chocolate Spread

120g Rich Tea biscuits, crushed.

1/4 cup raisins

1/4 cup roasted almonds, roughly chopped

Chocolate topping:

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1 tbsp Biona Organic peanut butter


  1. Line a brownie pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the pitted dates, peanut butter and chocolate spread in the bowl of a food processor. Process until a sticky paste forms and all the dates are puréed, about 1 minute.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the crushed biscuits, raisins and chopped almonds. Mix using your hands until everything is combined and the add-ins are uniformly distributed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the pan, cover with a sheet of parchment paper and press down firmly using your hands or the bottom of a glass. Make sure everything is packed and flat.

Chocolate topping:

  1. Melt the chocolate chips over a pan of simmering water. Once melted, stir in the peanut butter.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate over the tiffin, then place in the fridge until set, about 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from the fridge and cut into about 15 squares.
