Vegan Sweet & Sour Chickpeas

These Sweet & Sour Chickpeas will knock any take away out of the water! Using our new Sweet & Sour Stir Fry Sauce, you can whip up this veggie dish in a matter of minutes.


1 head broccoli

Biona Raw Virgin Coconut Oil

1 small yellow onion, diced

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 can of Biona Chickpeas

1/2 teaspoon minced ginger, optional

1 red pepper, chopped

1 can pineapple chunks, drained

1 bottle of Biona Sweet & Sour Stir Fry Sauce

Cooked Biona Brown Jasmine Rice, for serving

Optional: Sliced spring onions


  1. Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil in a large frying pan on high. Add the onion, garlic, ginger, broccoli and red pepper and cook for 5 minutes until soft.
  2. Add the chickpeas, and stir well.
  3. Add the sweet and sour sauce and stir well until all the veggies are coated. Add the pineapple chunks and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Serve immediately over rice. Add sliced spring onions if using.
