Sticky Sesame Vegan Cauliflower Bites

These Sticky Sesame Vegan Cauliflower Bites are the perfect finger food. Sweetened naturally with our Organic Maple Agave Syrup, we are certain they'll be a firm family favourite.

We bake our cauliflower bites rather than fry them, therefore they're a little more nutritious than their fried counterpart!


1 small head cauliflower

60g all purpose flour

125ml unsweetened almond milk

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (1/2 if you want it very spicy, leave out if you don't like spice)

120g panko bread crumbs

For the Sauce:

4 tablespoons Biona Organic Agave maple syrup

2 tablespoons Biona Organic Tamari

1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

3/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Chopped spring onions & sesame seeds, for garnish


  1. Preheat the oven to 200c and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Remove the florets from the cauliflower and chop them into bite sized pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk all the batter ingredients together apart from the breadcrumbs. Place the breadcrumbs in a seperate bowl and put it next to the batter.
  4. Toss the cauliflower in the batter one at a time, shaking off any excess, be careful not to soak them. Then dip into the breadcrumbs to coat completely.
  5. Place on the baking sheet and repeat until they're all coated.
  6. Bake in the oven for 22 minutes. While these are baking, prepare the ingredients for the sauce by whisking them together.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve the bites with the sauce on the side.
  8. Alternatively you could coat the bites in the sauce and with a pastry brush, brush the sauce onto the bites. Bake for another 5 minutes for the sauce to soak into the bites.
